Four Seasons Resort Langkawi

Kicking off the first of my posts from my recent trip with my favourite part of the holiday! Those of you who have followed me for some time will remember that I first discovered the magic of the Four Seasons whilst watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills... They were staying at Lanai, which is why I booked us into Hualalai & Maui for my Hawaii trip in 2012 & I was not disappointed. After that I started booking our trips around Four Seasons destinations.

I discovered Langkawi after our Hawaii trip & we had planned to go last year but ended up in Canada & the USA. So Langkawi was at the top of the list for this trip!!

We flew into Langkawi on Malaysia Airlines & were met at the airport arrival hall by our driver. After loading us & our luggage into the car, he presented us with icy cold, lemon scented towels - the first sign that the Four Seasons Langkawi was going to live up to the brand level of service & my expectations. After a roughly 20 minute drive through the decidedly rural island of Langkawi, we arrived at the Four Seasons, on the north of the island. They had just had a shower of rain, & we were carefully escorted through the lobby to this serene location for check-in.

As with Hualalai, we were seated & presented with a welcome drink whilst the lovely Shizue from Reception handled our check-in. We were run through the bonuses for our stay, including a dinner inclusion bonus that I had not been expecting, as well as reassurance that our spa credit etc was available on our account. Again I booked this trip through What a Hotel my go to site for great 5 star hotel deals & a Four Seasons preferred booking agent. We were invited to the Manager's cocktail reception that evening, something we were lucky enough to attend in Hualalai as well.

We arrived in our room to the most beautiful surprise from housekeeping.

I loved this so much & admired the work that they put in to it that I could not bring myself to remove it from the bed. I was sad when it was still there following turn-down & Mr TPS & I had to remove it as it really was beautiful.

The rest of our room lived up to expectation...

Yes, hiding behind that pot is our outdoor shower & spa.

Those of you who know me will know that I do not love the rain. Well here, I was not letting it get to me.

The rain cleared our first night in time for the reception & our private cabana dinner. Here is a panoramic taken at Rhu Bar on our first night...

The staff at the reception couldn't be lovelier. It is clear that they all love their jobs & who couldn't in such a beautiful setting. Mr TPS was thrilled to meet their executive chef & he then went out of his way to make our private dinner special including making a spicier sauce for Mr TPS & sending out an extra course. I enjoyed learning about Langkawi from our waiter, who was a local.

The food at the resort was delicious. We were never disappointed by any meal, from pizza to local cuisine.

Our treatments at the Spa were divine, we did the Raja & Ratu couples signature treatment, which was the ideal opportunity to reconnect with each other. We had a fabulous time on the mangrove safari (photos to come in a separate post) & saw heaps of wildlife including my favourite, the monkeys. We also got into some more active things such as Archery & Muay Thai.

Of course there was also plenty of pool time...

And even just wandering around the resort was relaxing...

Four Seasons Langkawi was just what we needed for the end of our trip prior to our return to work. Til next time.... x
